Kejora Capital Joins SVCA’s First “Roadshow to Japan”: Bringing Asia’s Dynamic Capital Ecosystem Closer
Kejora Capital has proudly joined the Singapore Venture and Private Capital Association (SVCA)’s first-ever
“Roadshow to Japan”, where two of Asia’s most dynamic ecosystems meet!
Held on 10-11 September, Roadshow to Tokyo, Japan finally made its inaugural run after months of groundwork mapping out Southeast Asia’s strategic investment appetite.
Kejora Capital was represented by Partner Andreas Surya, who took part in a conversation on private capital growth across the region, alongside Barry Lim, CEO of Kejora portfolio company SiCepat Ekspres.
The Roadshow was initially built to connect Southeast Asia’s GPs and portfolio founders directly with Japan’s leading corporate investors, corporate venture capital (CVC), and institutional allocators, set against the backdrop of 60 years of Japan-Singapore ties.
During a discussion, Japan Investment Corporation's CIO, Toshiyuki Kumura highlighted how 1.6 trillion yen in catalytic capital has been deployed into Japanese startups and leads to open doors for strategic partnerships with Southeast Asia.
Japan’s private equity market is in the middle of what many are calling a golden age, posting average gross returns of 2.5x, ahead of the US’s 2.1x, even as FDI screening tightens globally.
Together, those two forces point to one conclusion: capital flow is increasingly shaped by shifting geopolitics, and the Japan-Southeast Asia partnership is emerging as the structural response to that shift, not merely a hedge.
We’re excited to see what strategic opportunities may bring for Southeast Asia’s next chapter!
