H2O Hospitality Joins UAE National Digital Currency Project as Strategic Partner

H2O Hospitality, our portfolio South Korean hospitality technology company, has been selected as the primary strategic partner for the United Arab Emirates’ national digital currency initiative. The company signed an agreement with the ADI Foundation during Abu Dhabi Finance Week to help build blockchain-powered infrastructure for travel and consumer sectors on ADI Chain.

The partnership supports the UAE government’s plan to issue a dirham-pegged stablecoin through First Abu Dhabi Bank, the country’s largest lender on ADI Chain, a Layer-2 blockchain network designed for fast transactions and scalability. H2O will develop non-custodial mobile wallets and integrate them into its existing smart check-in system, enabling tourists to create digital wallets upon arrival and pay via QR codes. Through this partnership, H2O will connect data across the customer journey from check-in to payment and on-site consumption directly via ADI Chain. The selection places H2O alongside Mastercard, BlackRock, and Franklin Templeton in the UAE’s national blockchain proof-of-concept.

For H2O, the collaboration extends the company’s footprint beyond traditional hospitality and opens new revenue streams combining fintech and data-driven services.
