Catch Table Signs Business Agreement with Seoul Metropolitan Government

Catch Table, our portfolio restaurant reservation platform and South Korea’s leading service in the category, has signed a business agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to simplify dining access for international tourists.

Under the agreement, international tourists can make restaurant reservations or join online queues using email addresses, removing the prior barrier of requiring a Korean phone number. The move comes as culinary tourism drives visitor growth: 68% of tourists surveyed cited food tourism as a primary reason for visiting Korea, up from 61.3% in 2019. Catch Table currently serves approximately 8,000 businesses nationwide, including Seoul’s most prominent restaurants, and its global English-language version, launched in March 2023, lists around 1,500 businesses. The partnership aims to expand this coverage and to promote Seoul’s food culture through joint events including Seoul Welcome Week and Taste of Seoul.

CEO of Seoul’s Tourism and Sports Bureau Kim Young-hwan said: “The satisfaction international tourists feel visiting Seoul depends highly on their culinary experiences. The city will continue improving tourism infrastructure to showcase Seoul as an attractive city where visitors want to stay longer.”
