Bizhare Supports Government’s Free Nutritious Meal Program Through Securities Crowdfunding
Bizhare has launched Indonesia’s first public investment opportunity tied to the government’s Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG), opening the 82.9-million-recipient initiative to retail investors through securities crowdfunding.
The MBG program is backed by Rp71 trillion in the 2025 budget and is projected to cost approximately $28 billion over five years, requiring thousands of meal preparation facilities (SPPG) nationwide. Bizhare’s platform enables retail participation in SPPG development through equity and debt instruments. The first offering, by PT Anak Tumbuh Sehat, raised approximately Rp1.6 billion for a SPPG facility in Karanganyar, Brumbungan, Semarang, with Yayasan Wibawa Perkasa Abadi as official BGN partner. Investors can participate from Rp1 million, with estimated payback in approximately 17 months.
Co-Founder, Giovanni Umboh said: “We want to create a collaborative space that is safe and convenient for the community to participate in this government priority program. Beyond social impact for Indonesian children, investors obtain attractive returns with relatively quick capital recovery.”
Within three days of the first offering, Bizhare had mobilized nearly Rp1 billion for two initial kitchens in Semarang. As of end-August 2025, the platform had accumulated Rp300 billion in total funding with over 300,000 registered investors nationwide. The MBG program commenced simultaneously in 26 provinces on January 6, 2025, engaging local MSMEs and cooperatives to manage public kitchens. The 2026 budget allocates Rp335 trillion to MBG with a target of 30,000 SPPG facilities by end-2025.
We’re pleased to see Bizhare positioning itself as the connector between government social programs and capital markets, and we look forward to its continued role in financing MBG infrastructure.
